Loads of my friends ask about hiking apps that I used, Here you go.

Alpine Quest

Well without a doubt this the best hiking apps out of the all I tested , it lets you download maps in advance from Google, Open maps and Bing. So you could operate the app without any operator. Battery consumption level is also low. I managed to use this app for two days from one charge in airplane mode.

This is more useful when you are on a two to a three-day camping trip in the wild.

Maps.Me

This is a lifesaver. This app can download and store the entire map of a country. There is offline voice navigation and what not.

Since this map is curated by the travellers. There are small footpaths that are not available in google maps. The entire the NATT Trail of Annapurna Circuit was there in this map.

Trip Advisor

Well without a doubt it is the most widely used travel app to find ideas and read reviews . You could find new places that others visited and also contribute by adding something you know. And it’s fun when you review a place. You get reports about how your review is performing and if you are lucky, one or two might contact you to get more information.

Google Trips

This is the newest addition to my set of tools. This application allows you to keep Google results offline including maps and online tickets. Also, you could plan your trip on Google maps. Where to visit first, then where and how to get there and also bus/train/plane schedules.

Google Keep

Well yeah, I’m a Google junkie like you. It allows me to keep track of all my lists across all devices whether it’s PC or Mobile you have all of your notes at one place.

And yes this article is written using Keep 😛

  • Trip Advisor is a great app for choosing a travel place with information and review. And Google Keep is essential for short notes.
